Dramatic pictures show the neon green supercar completely wrecked, after the accident which took place near a school last Tuesday.

The McLaren’s driver, who was racing the speedster at 60 mph in a 25 mph zone was said to be suffering from “severe injuries”.

The pavement at the crash scene was littered with debris from the shunt.

The racing car was said to belong to a married father, who works as a financial controller in the film industry.

Also involved in the shunt was a grey sedan, plus a Dodge Charger and a silver BMW. Their drivers were said to have fled the scene. Police are currently trying to track them down.

A spokesman for the LAPD said that street racing may have been involved; speed was definitely a factor in the crash.

Witnesses told news outlets that the McLaren was travelling in excess of 60 mph when it collided with the other vehicles it was allegedly racing.
