Every year many new models cars are released. Some of them are difficult to ignore, backed by big budget campaigns and celebrity endorsement whereas others are given little fanfare and pass most of us by undetected. So far 2013 has been a year full of the first category, with big new flagship models supported by big new advertisement campaigns being a common sight.

We have hand picked five of this years most exciting and game-changing releases from five of the worlds most renowned car manufactures.

2014 Jaguar F-Type Roadster

Jaguar F typeThe newest in Jaguar’s legendary line of roadster sports cars, the F-Type, is a two door and two seater supercharged beast coming to a road near you with a price of £58,000 for the entry level model. Calling this the entry level model is a huge undersell however, as under the hood this car packs a top of the line V6 engine boasting and 340 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. At the other end of the spectrum is high end model, the F-Type V8-S, which delivers 380hp and 339 lb-ft of torque. The stylish exterior houses all the luxury and modern technology you have come to expect from jaguar including stop start engine control, paddle gear shift and sports suspension.

2013 BMW i3 electric carThis futuristic looking little car is BMW‘s first offering in the fully electric car market and many early adopters have pronounced it as the one to beat. Designed to seat four passengers comfortably, this little can get up to 100Km/h in just over seven seconds and take you almost 85Km away from home and back again before needing a charge. BMW, who are known for making highly crash resistant vehicles, have used carbon-fiber reinforced plastic in the construction which is said to be as strong as steel and almost 50% lighter.
