As Elba mentioned, Jaguar have evolved over the last few years. This has allowed them to firmly establish themselves as a major player within the luxury sports car market recently. A major contributing factor is down to the fact that the company have promoted their British image, using famous British actors within advertising and promotional campaigns. This has helped to give the company an edge, separating them from rivals and giving an extra dimension to the company.

Fiona Pargeter, the PR Director of Jaguar Land Rover, has said that the combination of Idris Elba’s passion for the company, the XE’s economic capabilities and the winter conditions will provide an interesting trip. She went on to mention how the actor will be one of the first people to experience the vehicle’s “innovative technology”.

Superb engine available with the Jaguar XE

Jaguar’s XE model will be made available in showrooms later this year in May. Powered by a range of highly refined four and six cylinder petrol and diesel engines, delivering a great combination of performance and fuel-efficiency.

These include two brand new Ingenium EU6 diesel engines together with two four-cylinder petrol unites. The XE-S will contain a 3.0 litre V6 engine, the same one seen in the F-Type.

The most fuel-efficient model will the base 2.0 litre diesel, offering an outstanding 75 MPG with 99g/km of CO2 emissions when mated to a manual and 71.1 MPG and 104g/km when mated to an automatic. Performance statistics are almost just as impressive, with the automatic hitting 0 – 62 MPH in only 8.2 seconds and the manual hitting 8.4 seconds.
