A recap of the Geneva Motor Show – The Bentley EXP 9 F concept 1

Shown off at the Geneva Motor Show was the Bentley EXP 9 F which is a preview on a future SUV made by the company. 2015 is the expected date for the brand new Bentley SUV to be released into showrooms for the cost of £140,000.

The EXP 9 F concept

The EXP 9 F concept comes with a stunning infotainment screen which appears from the dash board. It sits along nicely alongside climate controls, satellite navigation as well as entertainment systems. Internet is available inside the car too in order for the latest apps to be downloaded.

The panoramic sunroof is a wonderful feature upon the concept. Controls within are made larger so they can be operated when the driver has gloves on.

The Bentley SUV of the future

The Bentley SUV of the future will adopt the company developed W12 engine which will be able to produce a staggering 600 BHP.

With all of that outstanding power will come extremely economical technology. This will include cylinder deactivation which is becoming a standard amongst many powerful cars. Eventually it is expected the future SUV will come with the variants of containing a V8 diesel and a plug in hybrid six cylinder engine too. Being part of the Volkswagen Group the car will use a host of Volkswagen technology to make it as economical as possible.

Research

The Bentley EXP 9 F is the start of the process in building the upcoming Bentley SUV. Being displayed at the Geneva Motor Show, Bentley will take this opportunity as in method of effective research. Customer reactions and ideas will be taken on board.

Rivals

How will the Bentley SUV fare against the upcoming Lamborghini SUV? This will be a rival coming from the same car group. Established competition such as the Porsche Cayenne and the Ranger Rover will make the luxury market place very interesting. According to Bentley, there attempt at an SUV will blow the likes of the Porsche Cayenne and the Range Rover out of the water. Are they setting their sights a little too high?

Head Designer of the car, Dirk van Braeckel has a mammoth task in making the upcoming Bentley SUV the most desirable in its class. It is expected to cost £140,000, with Mr van Braeckel ensuring that the materials and design utilised make the car worth that price tag.
