Lamborghini-Huracan-amongst-the-Supercars-at-the-Geneva-Motor-ShowLamborghini have released a new ‘baby’ supercar named the ‘Huracan’. The Geneva Motor Show, one of most anticipated motor shows in the car world, is home to many new exciting cars., with the Huracan certainly being one of them. It will be the replacement for the outgoing Gallardo.

Supercar revival

The Huracan will have plenty of competition, with plenty of other supercars vying to take centre stage at the Geneva Motor Show, all of which will cost over €100,000. This signals a brilliant revival of the supercar segment within the industry after a disappointing six years. These other supercars on display at the motorshow include the Bugatti Rembrandt, on sale for € 2.18 million.

Stephen Winkleman, the head and president of Lamborghini is extremely proud of the vehicle saying “We believe that now is the right time for a new model. We are very proud of this car. I don’t see any competitor.”

Ferrari offering strong competition

Main competitor Ferrari will surely disagree with that statement. They have released the California-T, a supercar which is able to produce a huge 560 BHP. The car is able to accelerate from 0 – 62 MPH in just 3.6 seconds. A major issue with supercars is that of efficiency. Every segment of every car type is now reducing vehicle’s efficiency and emissions, whether that be sports cars or family cars. Ferrari have followed that exact sentiment and have claimed that they have reduced the California T’s efficiency by 20 per cent as compared to the outgoing model.

Ferrari welcoming the competition

The Ferrari Chairman, Luca Coredo Di Montezemolo doesn’t seem to be scared of the competition saying “I like competition, particularly when we win the competition. In the last three years, we introduced three key innovations: four-wheel drive, the first hybrid and now a new turbo engine”

The amazing power of the Huracan

The Lamborghini Huracan will be able to produce an amazing 610 BHP. The engine will be a 5.2 litre V-10 with power transferring to all four wheels, all being mated to a 7 speed clucth gear transmission. It’s  0 – 60 MPH time is 3.2 seconds, with top speeds exceeding 200 MPH. To control all of that superpower, the carbon ceramic brakes comes as standard, which help provide an enormous amount of stopping power.
