New MOT website lets you check your car’s history 0

Ever wondered what that little Ford KA you sold a few years ago is still on the road? Or maybe you’ve recently bought a second-hand car and want to know if its had garage troubles? Well, now you can find out. The government has launched a website where you can find out any car’s MOT history. All you need is the registration number and the car make.

The new website gives you a detailed look at the car’s MOT history. It’ll specify the mileage when tested, the reason why a car failed a test, and any suggested or recommended work. It’s definitely an attractive feature for people buying used cars but might be unsure about the condition or about any previous repairs.

Perhaps the most useful feature is a reminder sent to you when your car is due for its next MOT because the current certificate is due to expire. The government has said it is aiming for transparency and is developing another site for registered cars that’ll detail CO2 emissions, among other things.

MOTs are crucial to the legality of your car on the road. Any car over three years old must have an annual MOT test and provide a valid MOT certificate.

If your car is coming up for its next MOT test, then look no further. Here at Servicing Stop, we connect you with a local garage that will carry out your MOT test for just £24 or £19 if you book with a service.  You can find us online or alternatively, call us free on 0800 970 9046 and we’ll do the rest.
