Tesla Model X Faces Glitches 0

Tesla has been consistently wowing motorists and the motoring world for many years but, they still haven’t gotten over one tiny hurdle, and this hurdle has knocked them down again.

This hurdle, involves either physical malfunctions or software glitches in new models. This time round, there has been a major software glitch involving the new Model X. The main result of this fault is a problem involving the doors which have been locking people out of their cars. This malfunction also comes weeks after 2,700 SUV’s were recalled as a result of a faulty seat.

So the glitch, locks people out of their cars so drivers loose all control of their doors. There have been reports of wings just opening randomly and therefore, smashing in to surrounding objects. As well as the doors, the problem has also affected the climate control features, the second row seats and has distorted the windshield. These are just a few of the multiple problems that have been caused by the software glitch.

There has been a reply from Tesla who emphasise that “while we have seen some issues with early Model X builds, the issues are not widespread, and we are working closely with each owner to respond quickly and proactively to address any problems,” a spokesperson for the company said.

Tesla has a history of glitches with their first models but because of their small fleet, problems are sorted out very quickly and drivers are returned their vehicles swiftly. This may however become more of a problem as their vehicles gain worldwide popularity. Nevertheless, customer satisfaction still remains high as a result of their fast and reliable returns. The only problem seems to be the price paid for some vehicles that then fail. With the amount of money that is spent on the vehicle it should surely be expected to work from the beginning, right?

With the whole Model X door glitch, Tesla Motors shares dropped by 2%. It doesn’t seem like too much but, its biggest American rivals saw an increase whilst this occurred. Tesla will definitely bounce back with sales of the Model 3 expected to be huge.

This won’t be the last of the glitches that will occur with Tesla so what will be next?
