The best of the Detroit Motor Show 0

The Detroit Motor Show is one the most talked about events of the year for car fans. We take a look at some of the best cars on display at the event.

Ford Mondeo

The new Ford Mondeo was always bound to be a headline grabber thanks to it’s first class reputation. There will now be two types of hybrid versions available to add to the turbo diesel and EcoBoost petrol engines. Both are able to return 56 MPG and 140 MPG.

The car’s new design hasn’t let down in our opinion. The front of the car has clearly taken influence from the spectacular looking Ford Evos. The front chrome grille looks wonderfully sporty with some beautifully designed headlights.

Honda NSX

The Honda NSX looked like a futuristic type of car, backing away from its glorious traditional looks. The version displayed the motor show was made out of clay with the Acura badge installed at the front. In terms of size, the car is very similarly proportioned to the Audi version of a supercar, the R8. It’s sure to be a powerful car if it does indeed make it to production. The UK version with the correct Honda badge will be displayed on the car later this year at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Mercedes-Benz SL

The new Mercedes-Benz SL has a very noticeable aluminium body. For the first ever a car will have it’s whole body made out of the material. This means a total reduction in weight if 140 KG, meaning a better performance, lower fuel bills and less C02 emissions. Both the V6 and V8 engines are the most fuel efficient ever.

BMW 3 Series

The new BMW 3 Series was one of the most outstanding cars of the whole show, simply due to the great anticipation surrounding it. Being BMW’s bestselling vehicle of all time, you would expect the new 3 Series to be most desirable vehicles on the market. Many will love the 320d EfficientDynamics version which records a wonderful 68.9 MPG and emits 109g/km according to BMW.
