Driver leaves thieves note after fifth ‘pointless’ break-in

A Birmingham driver, fed up with a series of break-ins to his car, left thieves a desperate note pleading with them to stop smashing his windows.

The attempt to appeal to the emotions of the perpetrators thanked them for making the owner more aware of car safety, it reads: “You have broken into my car five times now.

“I learned after the first time not to leave anything valuable within it.

“I thank you for teaching me this lesson but now ask that you please stop pointlessly breaking my windows.

“I repeat. There is nothing of value in this car!!

The note ends with a polite ‘thank you’.

The College of Policing advises motorists not to leave anything on display in cars, including jackets and that nothing of value is left in the vehicle’s boot.
