The specific trim came as there was a high demand for Titanium X models. 80 per cent of buyers decided to opt for the Kuga Titanium or the Titanium X, giving justification for this new model to be released. The Titanium X Sport will cost an extra £2,950 more than the Titanium model.
The Titanium X Sport comes with heated front seats as well as a panoramic roof. The sport comes with 19 inch alloy wheels, as well as a body kit, satellite navigation, self parking along with a rear view camera and tinted windows. The SUV will also have privacy glass and a sportier styling kit.
The car will come with a 1.6 litre EcoBoost petrol engine, which comes in the power of 148 BHP and 179 BHP. There will also be a 2.0 litre TDCi diesel coming in 138 BHP or 161 BHP. The lower powered engines will have front wheel drive capabilities, with the more powerful units coming with all wheel drive. An automatic gearbox transmission will be made available in the more powerful models.
The Ford Kuga Titanium Sport X will have a very notable feature which according to Mark Ovenden, the Chairman and Managing Director of Ford Britain. He said that the hands-free tailgate which also includes keyless opening. It also includes opening the boot with just a single sweep of the leg under the rear bumper.
He said “Everyone has approached their car with their hands full and wished there was some magical way of opening the boot without having to put the load down first. Our hands-free tailgate is an ingenious solution to make everyday lives easier, and one tailored for our new top-end Ford Kuga customers as the majority have chosen it.”
The Ford Kuga is the beginning of the company’s new SUV assault on the international markets. We have recently seen the Ford EcoSport SUV, which is a smaller type of SUV vehicle without the huge bulk. A bigger sized Ford Edge SUV will be due in the near future it has been confirmed.
