F1 news: Red Bull announces 2018 launch date 0

Next Monday will see Red Bull launch its entry for the 2018 Formula 1 season.

The new car is called the RB14, and the unveiling was revealed in a tweet from the teams official Twitter account. No teaser images were released.

The relatively early launch date marks a change for Red Bull, traditionally the outfit delay launch till the last moment so development can be given as much time as possible. This time however, the team are the second (after Williams) of the ten to launch their new car. This is presumably to give the RB14 plenty of scope for pre-season testing.

Red Bull supremo, Christian Horner said:  “We are focusing on a slightly earlier release target, which only involves about five days, but the design is so concertinaed and production schedules so tight, that those five days are actually pretty valuable in terms of being on the front foot rather than the back foot.

“Our intention is to try to turn up at the first test in a position to knock about 100 laps out.”

Here are the stated release dates for the 2018-2019 contenders (Force India and Haas have not announced a launch date).
