beckham JaguarDavid Beckham now joins Jose Mourinho as an ambassador for Jaguar. Both football legends are promoting the F-Type Coupe worldwide.

David Beckham was in China, seen with F-Type on billboards as well as magazines and TV.

David Beckham’s delight of the F-Type’s British Spirit

David Beckham was speaking about his love for the ‘British’ brand.  “I’ve always been an admirer of Jaguar – from the styling and design to the feel and roar of the engine, every element feels uniquely British. I love the classic E-Type of the 60s and today this legacy is alive in the phenomenal F-Type Coupé, a car that epitomizes British craftsmanship. It’s an honor to support a brand with such an amazing heritage and I look forward to being part of Jaguar’s exciting future in China.”

Jaguar have said that David Beckham will be a huge part of their campaign for new cars in the upcoming years. This may include the Jaguar XE, which people have had glimpses of at the Geneva Motor Show. Beckham may also promote the Jaguar XJ limousine.

Jaguar’s delight with Beckham joining

The Jaguar Land Rover China managing Director Bob Grace has said that “We are absolutely thrilled that David will be an ambassador for Jaguar in China. David Beckham is a Briton whose achievements mean he has global popularity and he is someone who embodies contemporary British style and sophistication. He is a truly modern, British individual with a genuine passion for design, innovation, performance and driving.”

Jaguar’s plans to take the Chinese market by storm is a very interesting project. China is the world’s number one car market. The luxury market is a difficult one to crack over there with Audi’s dominance and BMW and Mercedes as well as Lexus vying for the number one spot.

The Jaguar F-Type Coupe was unveiled in London in February, with it creating great excitement within the automotive industry. Thanks to David Beckham the car seems to have had the same impact on China.

Jaguar have signed a deal which will allow them to develop cars in a new factory located near Shanghai. Localising the production of vehicles will help bring prices down for customers and will essentially help the Jaguar brand relate more to the Chinese market.

David Beckham’s wife has also promoted a car for Jaguar Land Rover, being involved in the launch of the limited edition Range Rover Evoque at the Beijing Motor Show in 2012.

After retiring from football with French club Paris Saint Germain, David Beckham is still keeping himself in the spotlight. We think the signing of David Beckham to Jaguar is good news for all parties.
