Honda Civic Type R That Can Reach Speeds Upto 168mph 0

Honda-VTECThe new 2015 Honda Civic Type R was first released during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show solely as a concept car, but now Honda is now announced that they going to release a production version of the new Civic Type R. There is a lot of new technology brought to the new Honda, one of the most astonishing features is the brand new 2.0 Litre direct-injected turbo charged VTEC four-cylinder, which is the first ever Turbo charged Type R engine. This new engine produces 306 horsepower at 6500 rotations per minute and 295 pound foot of torque at 2500 rpm, which are both the highest ever power figures for a Honda Type R model. The rev limiter of old Hondas has been considerably decreased which is now only 7000 rpm.

Transmission and Suspension

The Civic Type R’s massive power is transferred through a six-speed manual which is the only option available. Honda claims that this Type R launches from 0-62 mph in 5.7 seconds and can reach a top speed of 168 mph. As well as the all new Turbocharged Type R engine, Honda brings out other new technology in the form of adjustable dampers with four different modes. There is a “+R” button on the left of the instrument panel, which is directly opposite the “Engine Start” button on the right. The button not only puts the dampers in their firmest setting, but it also tightens the steering and sharpens the throttle response.

Brakes

The new Civic Type R chassis also incorporates four piston brembo callipers and 350 millimetre front brake discs, the brakes are covered by black 19-inch wheels with a red pinstripe, which are then wrapped in ultra low profile 235/35 tyres. A Dual Axis Strut Front Suspension is used in an attempt to tone down the torque steer of the front wheel drive Type R.

Body and Interior

when-will-2015-Honda-Civic-Type-R-be-releasedThe Civic Type R’s body is modelled to be as aerodynamic as possible which includes a flat under body tray, a deep air intake along with a low front splitter, functional front wing vents, a rear diffuser and a immense rear spoiler. There are a number of options available on the Type R, including, Sat Nav, Dual Zone Climate Control, Rain Sensing Wipers, Parking Sensors and many more. All of these additions can be included by adding the GT pack which also comes with some red accents spread across the car, while the interior is equipped with sports seats covered in black suede and red stitching.

The Civic Type R really does seem like the ultimate package of family friendly convenience but with the power and looks of a sports car. Honda are set to release the Type R sometime during the Summer of 2015, however the Type R is unfortunately not available in the USA, but they might possibly see the 2.0 litre turbocharged engine, although that probably won’t be in the Civic Type R.
