Pink Floyd drummer wrecks McLaren in Goodwood shunt 0

Pink-Floyd-drummer-wrecks-McLaren-in-Goodwood-shuntNick Mason, drummer of legendary super group Pink Floyd, has walked away unharmed after crashing his £3 million McLaren at Goodwood race circuit.

The 73-year old rocker lost control of the sports car as he performed a demonstration lap at the circuit in Sussex. The McLaren F1 GTR skidded off the circuit, sliding across grass before crashing into a bank. Mason was unscathed but the front of the vehicle was heavily damaged.

The event had to be temporarily red flagged as marshals removed debris from the track and towed the car away.

Mason has long been an enthusiastic racer, clocking up plenty of mileage on tracks around the world, even participating in the celebrated Le Mans 24 hour race. He is an avid car collector and has a garage containing millions of pounds worth of classics editions, which he regularly hires out to film companies.

His Ferrari 250GTO is said to be worth at least £25 million. He also collects Maserati, Aston Martins, Bugattis and Porsches.
