Preview of the Paris Motor Show 2014 1
The Paris Motor Show will begin on the 2nd of the October. There has been a lot of excitement leading up to it and it is easy to see why.
Highly anticipated models
The world’s best automotive manufactures will be there with their latest models including Mercedes, Audi and Jaguar. The luxury production models of the Mercedes AMG GT and the Jaguar XE will be on display. The all new Fiat 500X will also be there, with the car expected to make a huge impact in its home country. Other highly anticipated vehicles include the Volvo XC90, the Mazda MX-5 and the brand new Audi R8.
One of the best things about motor shows is concept cars. Although most of them never have a chance of being made, they give an insight into the manufacturer’s way of thinking for the future. Sometimes specific elements of cars can be used upon other production vehicles, whether that is the car’s technology or a vehicle’s styling.
Models which were due for an upgrade and change of style will also make an appearance. These include the Mercedes B-Class, the Ford C-Max and the Audi A1.
Mercedes AMG GT
Mercedes’ latest supercar will act as a rival to the Porsche 911 and the Jaguar F-Type R. Under the hood comes a 4.0 litre Bi Turbo V8 engine. It will come in two variants, the GT, which comes with a 456 BHP engine and the GT S which comes with a 503 BHP engine. The car will go on sale here in the UK at the beginning of 2015 for £110,000 for the GT model and £120,000 for the GT S.
The MX-5, the best selling roadster of all time, will enter a 4th generation. It will come with a SKYACTIV chassis and a brand new engine combination. Visually the car looks stunning. It now looks more aggressive and a lot sportier.
The new XE will be unveiled as the new entry level XE model. Expect the car to cost around £25,000 and £30,000 when released.
