Ford EcoSport compact SUV updated for 2015 0
The Ford Ecosport is similar and is set to rivals the like of the Nissan Juke, Renault Captur and the Vauxhall Mokka. After first being released in 2013, the EcoSport has been slow selling for Ford. So this new redefined model will feature many updates, including much improved handling.
To improve the handling Ford has slightly dropped the height of the car by 10 miler meters, along with tuned suspension for greater comfort. But similar to the Ford Fiesta hatchback, the EcoBOost will be manufactured in India, before being shipped into the UK.
The EcoSport on the UK will feature three engines, starting with the 1.5 litre TDCi diesel which has also been updates and now will produce 94 break horse power, while emitting only 115 grams per kilo meter of carbon dioxide, and travel 64.2 miles per gallon.
The Ford EcoSport will also feature the unchanged 1.0 litre EcoBoost petrol engine that can deliver 123bhp, and the 1.5 litre petrol is also available which is also unchanged.
Ford will release the EcoSport with two available trims, in the form of the Zetec and Titanium. While most feature in the Ford EcoSport will remain the same to the old model, while the old leather trim will be available with the options list. One of the optional packs will be the winter pack, which will add extra ventilation for read passengers, and a heated windscreen.
Cost & Rivals
The 2015 Ford EcoSport will be priced at £14,245, which is a competitive price compared the Renault Captur, which is priced at £14,295, but is a lot less the £16,474 priced Vauxhall Mokka.
The EcoBoost will face some stiff competition in the compact SUV market, with a wide variety of options available. With the Nissan Juke and the Vauxhall Mokka, who currently lead the market, along with the highly rated Renault Captur.
